Yes, you can mount two at the same time on a head or helmet mount. Using two night vision monoculars simultaeneously can give you depth perception and an increased field of night vision view. However, bringing the two pictures into focus with each other can be challenging depending on your eyesight.
We don't recommend this, they are best for airsoft, wildlife watching and civilian security applications. At very low light levels the device requires an IR light, which would give away your position to other night vision users.
Yes, but with limitations. Firstly, you will need to set the level of infrared on the device to IR0, otherwise it will reflect from the sight. Secondly you will need to mount an IR light onto the side of your weapon, so that the object you are watching is illuminated with IR.
Using electronics while driving can be unsafe so we don't recommend it. You would need infrared lights on the outside of the car as the infrared LED on the device will reflect on the windshield. Similarly our devices work best when you are not looking out a window.
We think that a wide field of view is better than an optical zoom for maneuvering and exploring the darkness, that's why our head mounted devices have a wide FOV and low zoom.
Night vision monoculars are compact optical devices designed to allow users to see clearly in low-light or even no-light conditions. Our devices can work by gathering ambient light or by illuminating the scene with inbuilt 850nm and 940nm infrared light. The picture gathered is displayed on a digital screen (viewed through a dioptre on the Nightfox Prowl or Prowl 2). The result is a clear view of your surroundings, even in total darkness. The Prowl and Prowl 2 allow users to add a colour filter to the image, with palettes including green, inverted green and white phosphor.
For hunters, wildlife observers, and outdoor enthusiasts, night vision monoculars offer the ability to explore and monitor nature after dark. They allow for discreet observation of nocturnal animals and safer navigation during nighttime excursions without disturbing the natural habitat.
Night vision monoculars can give airsoft players an advantage by enhancing awareness in low-light scenarios, allowing them to detect opponents and obstacles more effectively. Using night vision in airsoft gameplay adds an exciting, realistic element that heightens immersion of night battles.
In military and law enforcement operations, these devices provide a tactical advantage by allowing personnel to navigate and monitor environments stealthily without emitting visible light. This can be critical in covert missions or when operating in environments where maintaining a low profile is essential. We don’t recommend any current Nightfox products for military activities, although they may be appropriate for training and security applications.
Overall, night vision monoculars serve as versatile tools that bridge the gap between human vision and the challenging conditions of low-light environments, enhancing safety, security, and observational capabilities in numerous fields.
