Product Help

Performing bat roost emergence surveys in New Zealand with thermal is relatively new and although recommended, it is not yet a requirement. The thermal monocular has a very limited field of vision. The Nova significantly increases nocturnal visibility for monitoring high-risk trees than cannot be climbed for roost checks. Linked with a screen, these provide fantastic viewing and are invaluable for both bat management and training other ecologists. Highly recommended and am about to buy a second Nova to have greater coverage or allow multiple high-risk trees to be surveyed concurrently.

Nightfox Nova is loved and cherished.

The Nova was delivered many days earlier than Nightfox thought they could manange and the delivery driver was friendly and helpful.
Customer Service is still as excellent as ever and Rebecca has given me great advice on the best way to use the Nova, in particular the use of a splitter to be able to listen to a bat detector at the same time as recording audio to the Nova.

Can the Nova be connected to an external screen?

Yes. Nova features 720p HDMI output, allowing connection to a monitor or external display for shared viewing. The Nova is compatible with the NEEWER F100 field monitor but not the F700 version. The Nova can connect to basic field or PC monitors but not to phone screens or tablets.
